A Safe Place to Heal: Encountering God's Love in Your Journey Through Hurt
We understand that by choosing to take this course, you're carrying burdens, experiences that have weighed heavily on your heart. Our deepest hope from the very beginning is that this space will be a sanctuary for you. Whatever you're navigating, we pray that you'll encounter not just helpful information, but the profound love of a living God who cares deeply for you, has always been present, and longs to walk alongside you on a path toward healing.
You Are Seen and Deserve Healing
For those who have placed their trust in others only to be betrayed, know that there are people and a God who are truly dependable. If you've experienced manipulation, you deserve safety, freedom from control and exploitation. If someone has exerted power over you in moments of vulnerability, please understand that a loving and caring God does not condone such actions, and you did not deserve that.
If you feel like your innocence has been stolen, know that the purity and goodness of life are things you deserve to have restored. For those who have been physically taken advantage of, this is not a reflection of the inherent dignity and worth God has bestowed upon you. He sees you as beautiful and whole.
Finding Dependable Love and Safety
If you've longed for loving and trusting relationships only to experience loss and broken trust, know that there is a God who is deeply dependable, and you are worthy of relationships built on love and trust. If you were bullied, you deserve to be safe, and God reveals Himself as a protector.
For those who grew up longing for order amidst chaos, we serve a God of order who can bring restoration to the chaotic areas of our lives. If your parents weren't the safe place you needed, we are introduced to a God who reveals Himself as our Father, loving us with a restorative love.
You Are Welcome, Seen, and Loved
Even if you can't articulate the source of your pain, you are welcome here. Know that God desires to meet you exactly where you are, whether you can explain your pain, identify its roots, or are still trying to understand it.
A Prayer for Encounter and Healing
Let's take a moment to pray, believing that God's love and presence are with you right now, with the power to meet you precisely where you are.
Heavenly Father, we thank You that through the life of Jesus, we are introduced to a God who moves towards us, a Lord Jesus who is near to the brokenhearted. We are introduced to a God who can sympathize with every single hurt, ache, and trauma. Lord God, You are acquainted with sorrow, You understand loss and rejection. And Lord, we ask that for the lonely places in our lives, the places where we feel unseen and unknown, God, would You help us invite You into those spaces? We pray that through this moment, we would be able to encounter a comfort and a peace that we have been desperately longing for. We recognize that this can come through You in this very moment. So Lord, before we go any further, we just invite You here to be with us, to be, Lord God, with every single person wherever they are, Lord God, and whatever they're going through. Lord, that they would know Your nearness, in Jesus' name. Amen.
