Course: More Than Your Past - Shedding Shame & Guilt

Speakers: Ryan Miller

The Journey Continues: Walking Daily in Freedom from Shame

We've reached the end of this course, and I want to express how incredibly proud I am of you. Stepping into this journey, acknowledging the weight of your past and the shame you've carried, and choosing to explore these difficult emotions – that takes immense courage. You showed up, and that's the most important step.

But this isn't the end of the road. This course may have been a launching pad, but the vital practice of preaching the gospel to yourself daily, of exposing those underlying emotions and needs that fuel your shame so the Lord can truly address them, is an ongoing, everyday process. It's a continuous battle, but one worth fighting.

A Prophecy of Flourishing: Stepping into Deeper Connection

I speak over you now: as you embrace this daily shedding of shame, God will increase the intimacy, vulnerability, and flourishing within your relationships. You will increasingly recognize His loving gaze upon you, filled with a smile. You will cultivate deeper compassion for yourself, allowing you to navigate this world with greater freedom, even in the areas where you feel you fall short of your own aspirations, the Lord's desires for you, or the expectations of those around you.

The Safety Net of Love: Your Secure Foundation

Know this: beneath any perceived shortfall, there is a secure safety net of love supporting you. You have the potential to be a thermostat, changing the cultural temperature in every space you enter. This transformation comes from a deep understanding that you are guarded by trust, that you are growing in self-awareness and self-compassion. Like David, you can stand firm, knowing that if God is for you, who can be against you?

Being the Thermostat: Radiating Freedom and Belonging

Walk into your relationship with God knowing that He has already dealt with your shame. Now, consider what it would look like to be that thermostat, to influence the atmosphere around you, knowing your shame has been addressed and your belonging in your Heavenly Father is ultimately secure.
